30 Days of Floci: 4k Stars and a Growing Community 🚀
One month after the first commit: nearly 4,000 stars, 60+ contributors, 450+ merged pull requests, and a community that's just getting started.
Exactly one month ago today, on March 15, we pushed the very first commit to Floci. What started as a mission to keep local AWS development free, fast, and open has turned into an incredible journey.
In just 30 days, we have built more than just a tool, we’ve built a movement. Here is a snapshot of what we’ve achieved together:
The Numbers That Tell the Story
- 4,000 Stars (Almost!): The community’s response has been overwhelming. We are rapidly approaching the 4k milestone!
- 60+ Contributors: This is a true community effort. Over 60 developers have already stepped up to help build the future of local AWS emulation.
- 450+ Pull Requests: The pace of development is electric, with hundreds of improvements and features merged in just four weeks.
- 25+ Active Issues: We are listening, debugging, and evolving in real-time based on your feedback.
Building for the Future
We aren’t just coding in a vacuum; we’re ensuring Floci is built to last:
- AWS SDK Collaboration: I recently met with the Smithy and Smithy-Java AWS SDK teams to ensure Floci can adapt to AWS changes even faster.
- On the Ground: We’ve already delivered 2 presentations to over 150 developers and held dozens of 1:1 calls with contributors and partners. The energy out there is contagious!
It’s All About the Journey
Floci is about the community. We are incredibly proud of where we are today, but we’re even more excited about where we’re going next. Thank you to everyone who has starred, contributed, or even just shared the project.
Let’s keep building.
